Korn Shell Programming
Course Goal:
This course teaches the student how to write shell scripts to automate jobs and processes in the UNIX environment. The course concentrates on the Korn Shell, and also covers the features of the Bourne Shell.Audience:
System Administrators, Programmers, Technical Staff and Users who wish to write shell scripts.Prerequisites:
UNIX fundamentals.Course Objectives:
Describe the major differences between the Bourne, Korn and C shells.
Develop and test Bourne and Korn Shell scripts.
Declare and use variables and parameters.
Use the conditional execution commands.
Use the arithmetic functions.
Use the loop statements.
Use functions and traps.
Write Korn or Bourne shell scripts to automate a variety of jobs and processes.
Course Length: 4.5 days
