DYNIX/ptx System Administration II
Course Goal:
This advanced system administration course teaches alternate methods and guidelines for performing ongoing system and network management. Attendees will learn to customize the system configuration, monitor and repair file systems and prepare for emergencies.Audience:
Experienced system administrators of systems running the DYNIX/ptx operating system.Prerequisites:
DYNIX/ptx System Administration I or DYNIX/ptx for UNIX System Administrators and at least two months of DYNIX/ptx administration experience.Course Objectives:
Configure kernel for different environment types
Customize partitions on a root disk
Create and use swap partitions
Customize filesystem parameters for size and performance considerations
Setup and manage UFS, EFS, MFS and ACL filesystems
Monitor filesystem usage and recover from a full filesystem
Detect and repair filesystem corruption
Build a system registry for security
Setup scan and memory dump
Recover from a system failure
Set up TCP/IP routing and subnets
